Division, League or Group
--------------------------------------------------
Many times the number of teams enrolled in some Competition can be so great that it becomes impractical that all teams play all together (all - against - all) in one unique league/group.
Therefore the matches are organised in smaller groups, so-called divisions / groupings or leagues.

The terms: Division, League or Group are used interchangeably as synonyms.

For practical purposes, all teams belonging to one Competition of the same Committee of competence, which participate in a championship, are divided into groups of 6, 8,.., 18, 20 teams.

--------------------------------------------------
Divisions with Geographical Grouping
--------------------------------------------------
When teams of one particular competition are assigned in to groups/divisions, constellation software is trying to fulfil the criterion of geographical grouping.

If the teams play on the neighbouring fields, in order to reduce travel time/costs, it is good to assign the teams to the same group/division.

-------------------------------------------------- --------------------
Bye team, i.e. Dummy team
-------------------------------------------------- --------------------
Often when there is a subdivision of all the teams in a Competition Leagues/Groups, one can not always get the number of teams in the group is equal.

For example, if in a competition are enrolled 151 teams, the competition can be subdivided in to 10 GROUPS with 16 teams; and there is one BYE-DUMMY team in nine divisions.

To solve this problem it becomes necessary to introduce the concept of BYE-Teams.

(151 actual teams + 9 BYE-Teams = 10 divisions with 16 team-slots)
It means if in the group/division is one BYE-Team, the teams play 7 rather than 8 games.
In a Group/Division may be present at most two BYE-Teams.

----------------------------------------------
Play-off round / Superior League/Group
----------------------------------------------
The team that wins this competition will be promoted to a new superior competition of the playoffs to go in the series (level) or higher category/competition.

----------------------------------------
Match Day / or Round
----------------------------------------
If the number of teams in a group/division is n=16 (above example), the championship takes place in n-1 (ae 15) Match Days or rounds. Usually the shift between the two consecutive games (Match Days) is a week.

--------------------------------------------------
Official hours of competitions
--------------------------------------------------
Each competition has a predetermined timetable of the match. However, the time of the match can be also different from the official time, or you can say that there is a list of the official timetable of second choice.

The official time of all the matches of the specified Competitions, from time to time will differ. Any anomalies found during execution of the competition must be promptly reported to the Steering Committee (or organisation) for the necessary correction.
